Total Quality Management (Specialised Short Course)
The purpose of the Total Quality Management (TQM) short course is to provide students with a complete TQM body of knowledge as a holistic approach to managing quality, and to acquire fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge in total quality for improving quality of product, quality of service delivery (to internal and external customers), quality of organisation (systems and processes), and quality of work life (QWL).
TQM is a strategic necessity because it positively affects business input costs hence making them believe ‘quality is free’. Besides cost-route benefits, TQM also creates many market-route benefits. Suitably trained personnel are a prerequisite in pursuit of this objective.
